Young players rub shoulders with their heroes

Henricus and Ignus Meyer from Laerskool Horison took one step further towards their dreams of being professional rugby players. They spent time working closely with Sharks flyhalf, Patrick Lambie, and many other rugby icons as part of the Investec International Rugby Academy’s high performance training courses. The training courses were presented at St Charles College in Pietermaritzburg during the school holidays.

The Investec International Rugby Academy is one of the leading South African Rugby Academies, offering an independent, high-performance pathway for coaches, players and teams to become top rugby achievers. The Rugby Academy provides coaches and players with access to the highest level of international rugby coaching and specialised rugby mentors in a one-to-one environment.

Some of the best coaches, former and current rugby players in the world get together for intensive one to two week courses to impart their knowledge and wisdom to all course participants. Courses are specifically designed to assist participants in achieving a career in both coaching and playing rugby, while interacting with the game’s global players and exposing coaches and players to the international arena.
