Four kickboxers from Team Rage in the Roodepoort CBD will represent Gauteng later this year in a provincial competition against the Western Cape. The provincial competition involved South, North, East, West and Central Gauteng, with Team Rage representing Central Gauteng.
Dyllan Opperman, Karin van Jaarsveldt, Bianca Botha and Antoinette Viljoen won a gold medal each by winning their fights. These gold medals are their tickets to be part of the Gauteng team in September. Mina Lombaard and Charne Botha will be reserves for the Gauteng team after winning a silver medal each at the competition.
“The top fighters are those who regularly compete in the South African championships, so we knew more or less who our competitors would be.
It was great to see everyone doing well. Everyone will be in the team to face the Western Cape in Pretoria and if something happens to any of the main team members, the reserves can take over,” said coach Darin Opperman.
