As a member of the Gaunt family, I would like to thank Captain Odendaal and his team for their tireless investigation into the robbery and murder of two elderly folk, and for arresting the perpetrators of this senseless crime.
This crime has left a huge hole in the lives of every member of our family. My parents will be missed by everyone who knew them or met them.
I would also like to thank the State Prosecutor, Advocate van Wyk for his prosecution of both the criminals in this case. It restored my faith in our police service and justice system. I hope this case and the sentencing of the criminals serves as a deterrent to other would-be thieves or murderers and makes them think again before committing such crimes.
