Criminals make off with R12k in cash
Two suspects are on the run after they robbed a man of R12 000 in cash. The incident occurred this afternoon in the parking lot at Westgate Shopping Centre.

The victim had just withdrawn R40 000 from a bank and was followed by the perpetrators while he was walking towards his vehicle. As the victim got into his vehicle, the perpetrators allegedly fired a warning shot on the pavement to get his attention. They demanded the money but only received R12 000 before taking off.
Westgate Mall management confirmed the incident and said the police will investigate.
“A customer withdrew money inside the bank and on exiting the centre, he was robbed inside his vehicle. The police were contacted immediately and arrived at the scene within minutes of the call. By then the two suspects had fled in a white Mercedes. We appeal to the community at large to report any relevant information relating to the robbery to the police.
