Nelson Mandela Foundation finds Ayanda Mabulu’s painting “distasteful”
Fresh off Zapiro’s controversial cartoon, people have expressed outrage over Ayanda Mabulu’s painting of Nelson Mandela and Jacob Zuma. The Nelson Mandela Foundation has responded to the painting.
Remember the controversial Zapiro cartoon that elicited a lot of angry responses on social media?

Well artist Ayanda Mabulu, who is famous for his controversial and provocative paintings of South African politicians in compromising positions, has managed to steal the spotlight with his new painting.
The painting of Nelson Mandela and Jacob Zuma has received wide criticism and outrage.

The Nelson Mandela Foundation responded to it with a statement by Sello Hatang, which read: “As much as we respect Mr Mabulu’s freedom of expression through his art, we’re also are disturbed by the image.”
