Stop-and-search yields good results

Seventeen suspects behind bars.

Seventeen suspects were arrested during stop-and-search operations this past Wednesday (5 April).

The suspects, aged between 22 and 48, were arrested on the following charges: possession of drugs, assault with the intention to cause grievous bodily harm, common assault, possession of stolen property, crossing the railway line, possession of dagga, reckless driving, murder and arson.

The suspects were detained at Roodepoort Police Station.

The police urge the community that crossing a railway line is a criminal offence that is punishable by law.
