Support the Lions Clubs’ Buddy Day

The annual event will be hosted at West Ridge High School

22 April promises a morning of fun in the sun for all participants in the Lions Clubs’ annual Buddy Day.

This event will take place at West Ridge High School where approximately 150 students from local schools will be paired with 150 mentally and physically challenged children of all ages. “This day aims to enable all students to appreciate the enormous challenges experienced by the disabled community on a daily basis,” said Denise Easton, the Public Relations Officer for Buddy Day.

Snacks for the day, as well as lunch, beverages and specific coloured T-shirts for the participants, will be provided by Lions Clubs from Clearwater Cyber, Weltevreden Park, Roodepoort Host, Helderkruin, Krugersdorp, Northcliff and the Wilds. “The T-shirts will be given to the participants so they are clearly distinguishable, should they need assistance,” Denise said.

The various Lions branches will also provide stalls with suitable activities as well as some live entertainment. Should it rain on the day, the school hall will be used for the day’s activities.
