Kloofendal mom a Top 100 finalist

Lerato dreams of being crowned Mrs South Africa

“It has always been my dream to participate in pageants with a purpose, and that is exactly what Mrs South Africa is all about.”

These are the words of 40-year old Lerato Moyo; a wife, mother of four and business owner. “I am passionate about empowering women from all walks of life, whether they are young or old. My aim is to inspire and motivate them to be the best version of themselves and to be confident to make their dreams come true,” she said.

She entered the Mrs South Africa competition because she believes that it is the perfect platform to help her achieve her goals. “It is the perfect platform to be part of, as it is the number-one pageant for married women – not only in South Africa but also in the world. The pageant is not seen as a traditional beauty pageant, but more of a women-empowerment programme,” Lerato said.

Lerato was born and raised in Soweto where she completed her primary and high-school education. She studied at the University of South Africa towards a BCompt degree and majored in Accounting, Auditing and Taxation. She worked for various global companies in financial, sales and marketing positions.

“I am now the owner of Ithathe Image Consulting by which I help women to build their confidence with the objective of uncovering the best in themselves. I am also involved with various centres for abused women,” she said.

Through her participation in the Mrs South Africa pageant, she hopes to pursue her passion to empower, add value to her community through involvement with charity organisations and enjoy the journey of growth, learning and the opportunities it bears.

Lerato described herself as a kind, strong, passionate, sincere, family-orientated and humble woman who is renowned for her loud laugh that matches her big personality. “I am also a strong advocate of human rights for all – regardless of race, creed or sexual orientation,” she added.

Her message to women is very simple, “Be the best version of yourself because your children are looking up to you. It is important to dream, but even more important to work hard to make it come true.”

She concluded by urging everyone to help her realise her dreams and continue her journey to become Mrs South Africa, “Please help me to be one of the Top 25 finalists by voting for me. Just sms Lerato Moyo to 35959.”

The Top 25 finalists who will continue their Mrs South Africa journey, will be announced on 28 April during the gala dinner at Emperors Palace.
