Healthy drop in fuel prices in April

Notwithstanding 39c per litre fuel tax increase.

The Automobile Association (AA) of South Africa is predicting that the price of fuel will go down in April, regardless of the 39c per litre fuel tax increase.

International petroleum prices continued to ease during March on the back of increased global oil stocks which have mostly blunted Opec’s recent production restrictions, said the AA. The rand’s performance against the US dollar was another contributor to the drop.

It is expected that the petrol price will go down by 24c per litre, diesel by 9c per litre and illuminating paraffin by 10c a litre.
