National Something On A Stick Day

Enjoy a snack on a stick on #NationalSomethingOnAStickDay

28 March is National Something On a Stick Day and affords you the opportunity to use your creative talents and create a delicious food combo that you can eat on a stick.

When talking about food, there isn’t much that cannot be put on a stick, except maybe for soup, but if it were flavourfully frozen, an exception could be made. Foods that come on a stick are not only fun, they’re also easy to eat and the combinations are endless. Once you start, there is no telling where it may end!

From cool summer treats like the popsicle to frozen food staples like corn dogs, food on a stick is definitely one of the world’s greatest inventions. Other summer favourites include fresh fruit kebabs and skewers of grilled vegetables and meat.

Street fairs and food trucks have created a variety of recipes perfect to go on a stick, that can take us from breakfast to after-party hunger and everything in between. Some of the combinations are so weird and wonderful, that the question is often asked, “Why have we not tried that before?”

Whether it is fresh and healthy or breaded and deep fried, menu choices are broad and plentiful for National Something On A Stick Day!

To celebrate today, get inventive and create your own combinations to go on a stick. How about grilled pear or maybe meat and cheese squares? How does marshmallows and brownie bites sound? Have a creative breakfast, lunch or dinner and have some fun today!
