Photos: Car collides with motorcyclist after taxi skips red light

Accident to be investigated.

A biker sustained moderate injuries at about 6.55am on Wednesday, 22 March, when a car crashed into his motorcycle.

The motorcyclist was travelling on Albertina Sisulu Road from the Roodepoort CBD. When he reached the intersection with Wilgespruit Road, the traffic light’s green arrow was indicating that vehicles had right of way to turn into Albertina Sisulu Road, but a taxi skipped the red light and collided with a small vehicle. This vehicle then collided with the motorcycle.

The vehicle was first hit by a taxi before it collided with a motorcycle.

The accident will be the subject of an investigation by the Metro Police.
