To ensure that the elderly community of Roodepoort and its surrounds are cared for, Residentia Ons Huis offers a variety of services to senior citizens.
According to Sister Joan Butcher, these services include a Day Care for the elderly as well as home care services in the comfort of your own home for only R260 for six hours. “We also provide a screening service once a month on the second Friday of each month from 10am to 1pm. These screening tests include blood pressure, glucose and urine tests for a mere R12 per visit,” she said.
Meals can be ordered from Monday to Friday at R35 per meal with an additional cost for delivery. “We started with this outreach about a year ago and it has been really successful. The outreach areas include Florida, Roodepoort and Newlands,” Joan said.
She added that the community is welcome to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea at Ons Huis, which is situated at 110 Madeline Street, Florida.
