A rumour that four corpses were lying in the basement of an abandoned building on the corner of Shamrock and Main Streets, were quelled after an investigation earlier today by the Record and the police.

The Record received a call from a member of the public at about 10am who said there are four corpses in the building’s basement and that they are starting to smell. According to the caller the neighbours are complaining about the horrible stench. We contacted Florida Police and asked them if they would meet us there in case it was true. The Record went to the dilapidated building and started searching. Doubting our safety we decided to call the police again but as we exited the building the K9 Unit stopped and asked if we had called them. Interestingly enough they were not acting on our earlier call but on a different one they had received. Shortly afterwards members of Florida Police arrived and they did a thorough search of the building – to no avail.
One of the annoyed police members explained that it was more than likely a prank call, but that they could not act on the information.
