SAWS issues heatwave warning

To last until Thursday.

The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a warning about a heatwave in Gauteng and other parts of the country.

According to the service, temperatures will reach the upper 30s. Residents can expect temperatures as high as 36°. They are advised to take the necessary precautions such as hydrating often, staying out of the sun between 11am and 2pm, and providing cool areas for their pets.

Other areas that will also be affected are Northern Cape, Free State and North West. The heatwave is expected to persist until Thursday.
