Anambra members spread Christmas cheer

Spreading Christmas cheer

The West Rand Chapter of the Anambra State Association of South Africa recently spent some time dishing out some early Christmas cheer.

The members of this Nigerian organisation visited Siyabonga Dorah’s Ark, an orphanage and haven for children based in the Roodepoort Central Business District.

Anambra is a state in south-eastern Nigeria. Its name is an anglicised version of the original ‘Oma Mbala’, the native name of the Anambra River.

According to the Association’s chairperson, Chukwunonso Osonswa, the children need to be loved, encouraged and supported.

“They are the future leaders of our great continent of Africa and we need to give them the tools to be successful in life,” he said.

The Association hopes to continue supporting the home and others in the neighbourhood. They will be marking their second anniversary on 3 December and the community is welcome to join in as they continue to bless charitable organisations during this festive season.
