Anything is possible

"Although it is not an easy project, we aim at releasing 10 episodes of Love Triangle,"

The entertainment business can be cut-throat, but five young men are out to prove that they will persevere.

Recognised as the youngest production house in Roodepoort, NomaYini (‘Anything’ in Zulu) Films was established about a year ago with the aim of not only producing high-quality documentaries and short films, but also to give others a platform to optimise their talent.

NomaYini consists of Theo Masikare, 25, as the production manager; Thato Metseene, 24, as the digital marketing director; Boipelo Sebogodi, 26, as the director, scriptwriter and CEO; Thapelo Matli, 24, as the content developer; Mogale Mapaela, 25, as the managing director and Phumelele Nkosi as the legal adviser.

According to Mogale, it was a proud moment when they released their first short film, Love Triangle on social media. “Although it is not an easy project, we aim at releasing 10 episodes of Love Triangle,” Mogale said.

He described Love Triangle as a 10-minute pilot episode that received raging reviews short after its release. “We all have nine-to-five jobs and our projects are currently funded out of pocket. Through sheer perseverance and determination we want to be as big as Endemol, Egg Films and Bomb Productions.”

He said there is a surprising number of unnoticed talent, musicians and actors in Roodepoort.

“Although the messages we are trying to convey involve a huge amount of imagination, it has to be real. We cannot underestimate our fans’ intellect. They should be able to relate to the message.”

Mogale said they are tackling relevant topics such as human trafficking and rape. “It’s edutainment at its finest, and mixed with humour, drama and suspense, it is a winning recipe.

Content is released on a monthly basis.

Mogale said they are also going to release their spoofs (bloopers) soon. Follow them on Facebook or visit their website at www.nomayinifilms.co.za.
