It was a colourful Saturday morning as the Florida Methodist Church hosted a Spring Fun Walk. The congregation’s members were wearing bright clothes, ready for the 2,5 kilometre marked route at Len Rutter Park.
Reverend Phindi Mabinyane was happy with the turnout on the day, and said seeing families having fun together is important.
“We’ve just come out of winter so I’m glad there were no injuries today. Today went well and the great turnout was exactly what we wanted. The funds from the tickets sold today will go towards our church missions,” she said
Phindi added that the community still needs faith-based organisations to play a role. “We may be an ageing church, but we are still relevant in the community and attracting the youth. Our Sunday School is thriving and I want to extend an invitation to everyone to come visit our church,” she said.
