Hoërskool Die Adelaar’s Nyameka Mbola was the pride of her coach and school recently. She represented the Gauteng province at the All Ages SA Netball Tournament held at Hoërskool EG Jansen in Boksburg. Competing in the U/18 team, Nyameka helped her team to secure fourth position in the competition.

“The competition was tough but nice. We competed against the best schools in the country and we did well. Most of the players in those top teams were fit and intimidating. However, I enjoyed the experience and learned quite a bit,” Nyameka said.
Nyameko, who grew up in Welkom, started playing netball in Grade 5 and represented the Free State on numerous occasions.
“I’ve loved netball from a young age and my goal is to play it at university level. I want people to watch me play netball on the biggest stages and be successful,” she said.
The netball player is guided by first team coach Marelize Herbst who is very proud of her player. Marelize was part of the local organising committee at the competition.
