National Colouring Book Day

Set your inner child free and enjoy some colouring on #NataionalColouringBookDay

2 August is the annual celebration of National Colouring Book Day.

Colouring and colouring books have always been popular with children keeping them busy for hours on end, but over the years adults have become more involved in colouring.

With more and more adults realising the relaxing and stress reducing effect of colouring, a huge adult colouring trend was started worldwide.

National Colouring Book Day was submitted by Dover Publications in May 2015. The Registrar at National Day Calendar declared this day to be observed annually on 2 August.

Dover Publications, who was founded in 1941, released the first adult coloring book in 1970 and now publishes the popular adult colouring book line, Creative Haven.

To celebrate find a colouring party near you or participate online. You can also spend some time colouring with your friends, children, grandchildren or by yourself.

Enjoy the creativity of of making a picture come to life with colouring.

Post your pictures on social media using #NationalColouringBookDay and encourage others to enjoy the relaxing effect of colouring in.
