Roodepoort’s Candice Abrahams has been crowned Mrs World 2016 at the 27th Mrs World Pageant held in China this weekend.
Abrahams is the reigning Schwarzkopf Professional Mrs South Africa 2016 title holder.
The beauty pageant saw 45 of the worlds’ most beautiful women represent their countries in a grandeur production of elegance, grace and influence.
They participated in a talent competition, national costume competition, orientation and interaction ahead of the main event to show off their talents.
Abrahams was in the top two with Mrs Poland before she was announced the winner of the competition. Mrs America, Korea and Canada were in the top five.
“What an honour to be able to bring the Mrs World crown home to South Africa. It has always been a dream of mine to win Mrs South Africa and to represent my country on the international stage; to be bringing home the title is just the cherry on top of my achievements over the last year,” she said.
She will be arriving back on African soil on Tuesday, 15 March, to be met by thousands of South Africans who have been rooting for her since the beginning of her Schwarzkopf Professional Mrs South Africa journey early last year.
Abrahams will be arriving back in the country tomorrow at OR Thambo International Airport where she will be met by her family, friends and fans who have been supporting her since the beginning of her journey.
