Bronwyn Urquhart took an entirely different approach with her ice breaker speech, ‘Oh! The horror’. She spoke about her own behavioural problems as a child, facing them and conquering them, even completing her BSc degree later on.
Paul Muller warned his audience not to drop the ball, explaining life as a juggling game in which one has to keep five balls in the air, namely work, family, health, friends and spirit.
Robert de Kramer tied the month of love, February, to the end of the tax year, giving tips on maximising tax savings and reducing tax liability.
Craig Ellis was chosen as the person who best evaluated the speeches of the evening, while Paul Muller was the proud recipient of the trophy for Best Prepared Speech. Ellis, placing first in the contest of the evening, will progress to the area contest and compete with speakers from other clubs.
