Residents from Wilro Park, want to warn other residents of a scam whereby criminals get access to residents properties.
According to one resident, who wants to remain anonymous, yesterday four women, one with a toddler, pitched up at his house and rang the bell. His 14-year-old son went to the gate to see what they wanted. At the gate was two of the women while the other two waited in a vehicle. The women told him a 2m lizard was on the loose in the neighbourhood and that it is attacking people. They said two men will come later to inspect their yard and should they find the lizard they will remove it.
“Although I do not think an adult will fall for the story I am sure a lot of children might be awestruck by “the 2m lizard” and wanting to see it open the gate or door,” said the father.
“People must be careful and teach their children not to open the gate for strangers of even go to the gate with the remote,” he warned.
