Baby Moses has reiterated their goals of putting children first by providing a loving and safe environment, equipping and supporting children and providing sustainability in their lives.
The chidlren’s haven is run by Christo and Lanie de Klerk in Helderkruin.
”2015 ended on a high for Baby Moses! We are so incredibly grateful towards all our donors for their support during the Festive Season. Christmas time is always such a special time for our children. This year we were fortunate enough to have wonderful Christmas parties and gifts for the children. A huge thanks to each and every person who contributed towards this,” they said.
The children’s haven were not without challenges last year were informed to prepare for three of our primary school children possibly failing their grades.
However, a group of female staff and volunteers from the haven took up the challenge and implemented a tutor programme on afternoons and Saturdays.
Not only did all 3 pass, but one even exceeded the class average by almost 10%.
This year the haven is preparing for another lean year, but tougher than the last. Staff has foregone increases and budgets will be prioritised around food, medical, security, equipping of children and upskilling.
”In 2016 we want to concentrate on making Baby Moses a fun work and home environment for our children and employees. We want to influence everyone around us to have a positive attitude this year. We are working on guidelines and rules to ensure that we budget and spend even more wisely this year. Please know that we always welcome and appreciate any donation and support,” they said.
