Give your Valentine a book today
Donate some of your old books to a library.

Forget about Valentine’s Day and give someone a book today on 14 February.
International Book Giving Day calls on volunteers to share their favourite books with others, especially someone young. Here are some ideas on how you can celebrate book giving day.
1. Donate some of your old books to a library. They can then use your books or sell them to make some extra money.
2. Donate some kids books to a place where kids usually hang around like a doctor’s waiting room.
3. Give your books to a children’s home or orphanage where they can share and read together.
4. Donate books or money to a focused charity group that specializes in distributing books or outreach programmes.
5. Buy a book on amazon and have it delivered to someone else’s house as a surprise.
6. Leave a book somewhere you know a child will find it.
7. Donate books to hostels for the homeless or to refugees that have had to leave all their possessions behind them.
8. Use #bookgivingday in your social media posts today to celebrate books and their positive impact on people.
