Following his dreams

Pursuing his dreams of music.

21-year-old Angy Morobi is one step closer to realizing his dream of becoming a music producer.

The Sparrow Ministries Aids Village resident excelled in his matriculant exams last year and is now headed off to Damelin College to study Sound Engineering.

He’s studies will be sponsored by his godfather.

“I could have done better during the exams but I tried my best. I dream of becoming a music producer and opening my own record company one day,” he said.

Angy’s passion has seen him learning different musical instruments and even writing his own music.

“I love music and it’s what I want to pursue. I am lucky to have found my passion and know what my goal is. I am part of the Village’s Marimba band and I can also rap and produce my own beats,” he said.

Angy is not the only one who passed matric from the Village. AS Neliswa Mdletshe and Jane Mabasa also passed. They have yet to decide on their future paths.

“We had a formal dinner to congratulate them on their achievements as we know how difficult this period was for them. The main purpose of the dinner was to give them guidance and encouragement on their future endeavors,” said the Village’s managing director Ricus van den Berg.

The Village has study sessions and study programmes for their pupils which are headed by social worker Rugano Makwerere and student support Patience Mbeba.
