Crusaders show care with candy
Candy to brighten up the festive season for underprivileged children.
The West Side Crusaders (WSC) made the festive season a little nicer for children in Newlands and Randfontein this year.
WSC falls under the larger Crusaders motorcycle club and was formed in November this year. With their 21 members, their wives and children they gathered at the Wild Hog Pub and Restaurant on Hendrik Potgieter Road from where they traveled to the two areas to give underprivileged children candy.
“The whole thing was organised in around a week,” chapter vice president Eddie Jameson told the Record.
They chose Newlands on account of the chapter’s president, Freddie Fourie, growing up in the area and knowing the hardships of the neighbourhood.
Jacques Staunton played Santa Clause, having an outfit on underneath his biker’s jacket and a white beard to boot.
