About 16 under-privileged children at Rainbow Children’s Village in Westdene received gift bags, sun hats and treats from three of Maragon’s pupils recently.
Abigail van der Sandt, a Grade 3 pupils at Maragon and a finalist for the Miss South Africa School 2015 pageant, took two of her friends with her to spend time with the children.
Rainbow Children’s Village is a safe haven to orphans, the underprivileged, abused, abandoned and ill children.
The reason this Ms SA School’s finalist and her friends visited is because children at the Village witnessed violence in their families and on the streets and they wanted to spend time with these children.
Abigail said in a press statement she is calling on the public, to consider being part of the promising future of homeless children.
She added, “You can help us break the cycles of homelessness, poverty and domestic violence by investing in the future of our community.”
