Sparrow village proud of their roots
Traditional outfits and entertainment on Heritage Day.

As most institutions did this week, Sparrow Village celebrated the heritage of their benefactors and staff on Heritage Day, Thursday 24 September.
Founder and director Reverend Dr Corine McClintock invited the Record to join in activities. On the grounds chairs were arranged around the afternoon’s concert arena. Boys and girls played percussion instruments such as marimbas and small drums. Later girls performed traditional dances to the great entertainment of the crowd. Everybody enjoyed a lovely lunch together.
All staff members were dressed in their traditional clothes and afterwards some of the older boys performed as deejays, inspiring the crowd to dance with them. Corine said it is important to remember where one comes from and proudly wore her Scottish tartan, secured with a beautiful broach over a white button-up shirt.
