Exceptional service from police

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Capt. Makafola, Sgt. Magetse and Cst. Gabe from Florida SAPS for recovering my sons vehicle that was stolen at Roodepoort Rugby Club on 15 August.

We went to Florida SAPS to report the stolen vehicle. There was a cell phone in the vehicle and we managed to access the location by cell phone tracking to an address in the Soweto area. Capt. Makafola immediately dispatched a Florida SAPS Crime Prevention vehicle to the cell phone location and Sgt. Magetse and Cst. Gabe recovered my son’s vehicle. The suspects had abandoned the vehicle and were unfortunately not apprehended.

Sgt. Magetse and Cst. Gabe stayed at the location and kept in telephone contact with us from the minute they found the vehicle until the time we arrived where the vehicle was stationery. They escorted us back to Florida SAPS and then offered to escort us back home. This is exceptional service and work well done, they went beyond their normal duties to assist us.
