They really need a shelter while they wait

I recently went to Westgate shopping Centre. It was just after 11 in the morning. I could not believe what I saw. There were a number of elderly sitting on the side walk and on shopping trolleys. They were waiting for their transport, I believe it is a municipal bus, to take them back to the various Old Age Homes. They have been waiting for a long time.

From what some of them told me, it is not the first time that they had to wait for the bus and they often have to wait in utmost weather conditions.

I find it disheartening that the elderly must be humiliated like this. Is it not possible for Westgate Shopping Centre put up benches and shelter for them as they are supporting the shops in the Westgate? I am sure that these benches can be ‘guarded’ like the parking for the disabled at shopping centres.

Possibly some of the community members could sponsor benches or shelter?
