After three motorcycles were stolen the efforts of the Roodekrans Neighbourhood Watch (RNW) resulted in the recovery of one.
According to Cherie Lowe, head of RNW’s radio control, they received a call out at around 7.30 am.
“A neighbour had notified our operation room of their dogs that have been poisoned,” Lowe in a press statement said.
“The two small dogs were already dead and the bigger dog had been taken to a veterinarian; unfortunately, it died soon afterwards.
“They told us the dogs were poisoned in order to steal their motorcycles without hassle,” Lowe said.
Their security partner, DMS Security assisted RNW in going out to a nearby open veld and searching it. During their search they found the smaller motorcycle in the veld behind the Lions Club Wilro Park grounds in Belladonna Street.
“We wish to thank DMS Security for assisting us as well as Warrant Officer Gert van Deventer, who always assists at least eight of our vigilant patrollers,” Lowe said.
No arrests have yet been made in connection to the case.
