Roodies off to perfect start
The Best of the West Easter Festival kicked off this morning at Krugersdorp High School.
The festival pits the best schools against each other in rugby, netball and hockey.
Sole Roodepoort representatives Hoërskool Roodepoort’s rugby team made a scintillating start to their festival.
They thumped their opponents Boksburg 56-0.
Roodies’ Dylon Texeira, Dylon Pretorius and Michael Rae ran in three unanswered tries with Louis Rabie adding the conversions to make the score 21-0.
In the second half Roodies upped the tempo and Boksburg could not keep up.
Texeira scored twice with Barney Bezuidenhout, Charl Barnard and Andrew Volschenk also crossing the line.
Rabi successfully converted the tries, taking the score to 56-0.
