Jaws of Life had to be used to free a man’s body from his bakkie after he was fatally injured in a head-on collision with a truck.
The incident occurred yesterday 17 March on the Jim Fouche and Constantia Road intersections.
ER24 paramedics arrived on scene and found both wrecked vehicles lying in the middle of the intersection.
ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said the passenger of the bakkie fortunately sustained only minor injuries.
Paramedics treated the patient for his injuries and thereafter transported him to Helen Joseph Hospital for further treatment.
The cause of the collision is not yet known but authorities were on scene for further investigations.
