The 1st Eagles Scout Group’s Cub Pack donated a wheelchair to Faith Kunene.
The four year old is unable to walk and needed to be carried wherever she wanted to go.
The Cub Pack donated the wheelchair so it could help her develop a small amount of independence and to help her Uncle’s family to care for her without having to carry her around.
Faith’s mother died giving birth to her. Due to the lack of oxygen during the birth process, this affected the newborn’s neurological and motor development.
When her mother passed away, Faith’s Uncle was granted custody of her.
1st Eagles received the wheelchair from Roodepoort Rotary Club for the Cub Packs’ community service project and for the remarkable effort put in by the Cub Pack in collecting bottle tops in 2013 and 2014.
