I would like to get my story out on the traumatic experience my children and I had to go through yesterday 2 March 2015. And what is appalling to me is that nobody did anything. Not even the police. As I was busy with my daily routine, and on my way to do grocery shopping,
I parked my car quite far away from the entrance with lots of other parking spaces around me still open. I was busy getting my children out of the car (10 month old and a two-year-old) with my car door wide open. This one woman comes and wants to park next to me. I showed her I am busy and she must go park somewhere else. But no, she wants to park next to me. So with care and taking my time I took the children out of the car.
As I stepped back to close my car door, she just started driving into the parking space and bumped me with her car while my two-year-old was standing next to me and I have my baby in my arms. When I asked her why she need to hit me with her car she started swearing at me. I told her I was going to phone the police because it is unacceptable to purposely hit a person with your car. She looked me in the eyes and said to me “I will kill you before they get here”. Giving me a death threat in front of my children was horrifying. Afterwards the security came there to find out what is going on and as I was telling him he accused me of lying. You don’t know what happened. I was in fear of my and my children’s lives. I phoned the police telling them what happened and that I need their urgent assistance. After waiting for more than an hour and the woman leaving, the police did not arrive.
Afterwards, I went to the security guy to ask his name so I can report him, he refused. I told him I would like to take a picture of his face. He started hitting my and slapped my phone out of my hand and said he will take it. Nobody was even there to help me. What is this country happening to? Don’t even get an apology? Can’t even depend on the police.
I don’t know what to do and feel very traumatised. This woman needs to know it is not okay to treat people like this and being slapped by security? My poor children don’t even know what has happened and I feel do I really want to raise my children in a country like this? This story needs to get out and proper action needs to be taken. I fear for my life and for my children’s lives.
