City Power seem not to care about the customers who pay dearly for their services, says a resident of Wilro Park.
Gwyneth Barker, who lives in Kiaat Street says City Power came in October last year and dug a hole in front of her house in order to do maintenance work.
They left and did not bother to fill the hole up again. Except for the hole being unsightly it also poses a very real danger to especially children and pets – the cables inside the hole are exposed and live.
Barker says she has been calling City Power at least three times a month since October last year to report the matter and received numerous reference numbers but to no avail. One of her neighbours, Rassie van der Merwe confirmed this and said he and various of the other neighbours also unsuccessfully tried to get City Power to attend to the problem.
Barker says after the umpteenth call she was told by the irritated operator at the call centre to stop calling because she has too many reference numbers.
Residents are asked to take caution when visiting this street with their children or pets.
The record is awaiting comment from City Power.
