As the spectre of a national blackout which could last two weeks hover over the nation, Eskom has announced that rolling load shedding will be implemented from 10am until 10pm today.
According to spokesperson Khulu Phasiwe “the system is severely constrained. Therefore we have had to implement stage one load shedding from 10am to 10pm.
Stage one load shedding allows for up to a 1000MW to be shed.
Phasiwe said the load shedding might end earlier if the public cooperates and save electricity during the day.
