Residents of Roodepoort were spooked today when Mogale City announced that the 25 hour water interruption that was scheduled for 24 January would take place today.
According to Justice Mohale, spokesperson for Rand Water from whom Joburg Water buys water in bulk, the water interruption would not take place today in Roodepoort and there was a possibility that it would be cancelled in Mogale City as well.
The water outage was planned in order to do maintenance on the Eikenhof pump station.
