A female resident urges residents to come forward regarding an incident on Peter Road where a man and woman were allegedly assaulted by police officers.
According to daughter Jenna Robertson the alleged assault occurred on Friday (30 January) at around 1 pm and involved her mother and brother that were travelling in a silver Volvo.
It is being alleged that the pair were asked to pull over by policemen after which they were assaulted and arrested.
“There was a Silver Polo that had stopped traffic and was recording this incident, we’re hoping to reach that person as the footage will really help our case,” Robertson said.
They were travelling along Peter Road towards Beyers Naudé Road when they were asked to pull over their vehicle.
According to Robertson a case has been opened against the officers from Honeydew.
She said that her mother is appearing in the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court today (Monday 2 February) to deal with the police’s case against her.
Robertson can be contacted on 082 446 7853.
