Two arrested for possession of drugs
Two suspects, both 29, are expected to appear in the Roodepoort Magistrate's Court soon after being arrested for possession of drugs.
They were apprehended early on Wednesday, 28 January. Florida Police members and the K9 Dog unit were busy performing special patrol duties when they received information from a resident.
“According to the information, two foreign nationals were selling drugs from two separate addresses at a complex near Florida Lake,” Florida Police spokesperson Lydia Dikolomela explained.
At one address the policemen found a male suspect and proceeded to search him for drugs which brought to light 24 packets containing a white substance that is suspected to be crystal meth along with 40 transparent smoking pipes (often referred to casually as ‘lollies’).

“It is alleged that the suspect admitted that both finds belonged to him,” Dikolomela said.
The police proceeded to search and found a second male suspect at the second address.
They found 10 ziplock plastic bags containing a white substance suspected to be crystal meth.
“It is alleged that the suspect told the police that the contents of the ziplock bags are crystal meth,” Dikolomela said.
