During the 1960s I lived at Flaming at the corner of Church Street and 1st Avenue in Florida.
Tuesdays and Thursdays my friends and I walked to the lake with our toddlers and older children. They played and took trips on the little train, and in summer either used the swimming pool or played in the small swimming pool or sandpit in the children’s play area. There we spent many happy hours. Never was there one bit of vandalism or crime and abuse of any sort. Toilets, sandpits, the playground and everything was well maintained and clean.
In later years we enjoyed fun activities such as fishing, putt-putt and go-karting at the lake.
Good memories and good times!
