Witpoortjie — The small home to psychiatrically ill patients in Witpoortjie, Ebenezer House, desperately needs the community's support.
“Nearing the end of the year, our biggest problem is making December and Christmas enjoyable for all,” says Kerry von Buddenbrock, Ebenezer House fundraiser.
Von Buddenbrock appeals to residents to assist the house in any of the following ways:
• Maintenance and repairs are needed on the house's sewing machines, including a Simplamatic 5700, Empisal overlocker, Bernette, Bernina Minimatic and Empisal Protea 2000. The donation of a working embroidery machine would be much appreciated.
• Donations of tinned food and other non-perishables are welcome.
• The donation of a Christmas box or gift for the 31 residents aged between 25 and 70. Content suggestions include face cloths, towels, shower gel, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, body lotion, socks, magazines, nail polish and nail polish remover, nail sets, biscuits, chocolates, chips and packets of sweets.
• Transportation to the coast for a holiday.
