Welcoming sign gets a makeover

Although reported through the years, the Roodepoort sign at the border of Roodepoort and Krugersdorp has deteriorated into an eyesore.

On Heritage Day, 24 September, the Democratic Alliance Ward 71 branch in Roodepoort renovated the sign at the corner of Trezona Avenue and Albertina Sisulu Road.

“The sign forms part of the heritage of Roodepoort and has been neglected by the City of Johannesburg for many years. As residents we should be proud of our heritage and maintain it,” says councillor Gert Niemand.
