Video: Roodepoort pensioner takes on e-tolls
Man defiant in his protest against e-tolls.
A pensioner from Roodepoort is taking a stand against e-tolls and what he calls ‘Scamral’ (Sanral).
Every day 68-year-old Cavey Parker stands on a bridge across the N1 highway for one hour to protest against the hated system.
Armed with banners that read ‘Proudly e-tag free’ and ‘Hoot against e-toll’ he also waves a South African flag at the motorists who drive by. Slightly more bizarre is the coffin he brings along, which he says symbolises the death of Sanral.
Parker’s activities recently attracted the attention of the Metro Police. Seven of their officers descended on him and confiscated his banners. This has not deterred him though and he vows to be back.

I am one hundred and one percent behind that Senior citizen. Wish all Gauteng people can join him. Etoll the biggest rubbish one could think off, again another contract for one to make billions for himself while our people live on the breadline!!! Stop this shit.
