The women of the Roodepoort SAPS conducted a special operation to celebrate Women’s Month on Friday (15 August).
The aim of the operation was to follow-up on outstanding dockets that relate to crimes against women, according to spokesperson Nonhlanhla Kumahlo who also participated in the operation. Leads were followed up by women officers assisted by their male counterparts all over Roodepoort, including areas such as Horison, Witpoortjie and Tshepisong.
Seven arrests were made – two for fraud, one for malicious damage to property and four for assault GBH (grievous bodily harm).
The suspects will appear in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court soon.
