The council’s ethics committee found Councillor Suzanne Clarke not guilty of misconduct after she was accused of bullying tactics at an old age home in February this year.
The Ethics and Disciplinary Committee considered the matter and resolved to investigate the matter by establishing a sub-committee to investigate the allegations.
The sub-committee concluded that after carefully taking into consideration evidence brought before them that Clarke did not commit any breach of the Code of Conduct for Councillors or the standing rules of Council.
The sub-committee found that Clarke had acted within her scope and therefore all charges against her will be dismissed. The sub-committee also recommended that the Department of Housing investigate the matter to ensure that old age homes are not occupied by illegal tenants.
The committee dismissed allegations of improper conduct against Clarke.
