Rock for Rhino with Wysdiman

Rhino conservation has never sounded so good.

Around 600 rhinos have been poached this year already, and sadly musicians can’t physically help them.

So said Bruce Bleed of Johannesburg band, Wysdiman.

“What they can do, however, is to entertain people and raise awareness as well as funds!”

Afrikaans rock outfit Wysdiman will be working in conjunction with popular venue Rumours Lounge in Weltevreden Park to present the Rocking for Rhinos Fundraiser Concert this August.

The concert will benefit the NPO, Rocking for Rhinos based in Hoedspruit in Limpopo.

The NPO currently is organising their third annual Rocking for Rhinos Festival in Hoedspruit which will be held in September, says Bleed.

“The annual Rocking for Rhinos Festival is held to raise awareness and generate funds by combining conservation and entertainment – and we want to bring that idea to Roodepoort.”

All funds raised on Saturday 16 August at Rumours Lounge will go to rhino conservation through Rocking for Rhinos for the low ticket price of only R50 per person.

Bands that will take to the stage from 4pm include Wysdiman, State Society, Luke Jon Shearer (from Australia), Burning Blue, Octanium, Nighthawk, Gunslinger, Sun of the Gun, Planes of Tomorrow and Mad Ashlynn. Ray Harrison will act as MC on the day.
