Brickz pleads for case to be dropped
Brickz's rape case has been postponed to 26 August.
Rape-accused kwaito star Sipho Brickz Ndlovu appeared in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court on 1
August requesting that his case be withdrawn. The 32-year-old faces charges of raping a 17-year-old girl at his Honeydew home in March last year.
Ndlovu was arrested on 1 November last year. After an unsuccessful bail application, his lawyers went to the high court and secured a R50 000 bail in December.
Looking at ease, Ndlovu walked into the dock on Friday, waving and smiling at his fans. His newly appointed legal representative Dumisani Mabunda requested that the case be postponed to the end of August to allow him to make representations to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Postponement was granted with the understanding that the representations needed to be finalised. The case will resume on 26 August.
“This case is weak and has a lot of loopholes, “ said Mabunda.
