Residents panic after earthquake tremors

Residents were wild eyed and bewildered this afternoon when a mild earthquake hit Roodepoort.

Three tremors occured consecutively at approximately 12.25pm. Reports were confirmed that the tremors were felt in Honeydew, Fourways, Potchefstroom and as far as Bloemfontein.

It is believed that earthquakes in this area occurs due to elaborate mining activity that took place in the past.
