An elderly woman is safe but severely traumatised after an attempted hijacking that took place on Ontdekkers Road, between Crane Street and Mouton Road.
The woman was on her way back from Absa Bank at approximately 11am when between two and three men in a dented Lexus allegedly pushed her from the road and took her money and her vehicle. They fled in her vehicle but the tracking device was activated and the vehicle recovered.
The incident took place close to the illegal taxi rank that has developed of late at the intersection of Sonop Street and Ontdekkers Road.
ER24 attended to the woman on the scene.
